Equipment Overview
Equipment Overview
Irish Fire Appliances although under the control of 30 different fire authorities have a fairly similar set of equipment of equipment on board. All fire brigades have as their frontline appliances a class b water tender with a range of equipment for firefighting, rescue, extrication, hazardous materials and some trauma cases depending on the level of medical training. (In Dublin all firefighters are Paramedics so they carry a larger range of medical equipment than any other brigade)
Specialist vehicles will carry more equipment to deal with specific incidents that require more equipment. e.g. heavy rescue for a larger vehicle road traffic collision or a turntable ladder for aerial rescue or a water tower.
